Robin Lyon is the Organist/Choir Director. Robin graduated from Longwood College in Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, majoring in organ. She has been a choir director and organist since 1979, serving in several eastern Connecticut churches. Robin was introduced to handbells in 2008 and rang with Bells of Fire under the direction of Jane Nolan. She has taught private piano lessons to students of all ages and is currently a substitute teacher at Norwich Free Academy.
Our music programs include:
rehearses on Sunday mornings under the direction of Lee Ann Fessenden. Children in grades 2 through 6 are welcome to participate. The choir sings numerous times throughout the year.
THE YOUTH CHOIR
rehearses Sunday mornings. Students in grades 7 and up are welcome to participate. The choir sings numerous times throughout the year.
THE ADULT CHOIR
meets on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:00. They sing during the at the 9:00 service on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month, and at the 10:30 service the other Sundays of the month. New voices are always welcome!
THE HANDBELL CHOIR
meets on Tuesday evenings from at 6:15. This group plays at various services throughout the year. We ring using two octaves of Schulmerich Handbells. We encourage anyone who enjoys ringing, or would like to learn and can read basic rhythms, to let Robin Lyon know. Beginners’ workshops will be held when there is interest.
