Rev. Stanley E. White

Rev. Stan White has been the pastor of the Preston City Congregational Church since January 1985. Before graduating with his Master of Divinity degree from Andover Newton Theological School, he pursued an education in music. He graduated from Barrington College with a Bachelor's degree in Music, majoring in Piano and Voice.

He founded the Preston Community Chorus in 1987, and served as its Director for twelve years. During that time, he also formed and directed the Preston Community Youth Chorus. He has also taught music in local school systems. Additionally, Rev. Stan White formed the Voices of Christmas Chorus in Preston, which presented annual concerts for the community. More recently, he formed the Preston 325 Community Chorus which presented a concert as part of the Town of Preston's 325th Anniversary celebration.  He also teaches piano to students of all ages.

Rev. White has spearheaded several projects at the church:  land purchase to expand the church property, and subsequent building projects: expansion to the Sunday School building, and most recently, renovations to the Fellowship Hall and installing a new heating system (adding air conditioning to the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall).

Rev. White has instituted numerous church programs and programs at the church for community: a college scholarship program, community center cafe', and a community food pantry, just to name a few.

Additionally, he serves the community by leading worship services at local nursing homes.

Rev. White resides in Norwich.
